Cover image: Segmented spirals created by the chemically oscillating Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction. The orange segmented spiral collides with the blue front of a striped traveling wave. Although waves annihilate when they meet, the segmented spiral continues to spawn new loops as it rotates and will eventually take over the entire frame.
